Good Alternative to Touristic Tours

We have called Phung Tuesday at 6pm to book a visit of the Mekong the next day at 8am, no problem, everything was set promptly and simply.

Diem (?) has been a nice guide, she can talk English and likes to talk with people, it's not only a relation between client and provider. We asked for seeing different things and avoid certain others (we skipped the visit to the making of bricks for instance and paid instead a visit to a nice guy who picked coconuts for a living but was a collector of antiques, a real "amateur" who collects for his own sake. When i asked him if he ever had the idea of selling his belongings, he shook his head with a gentle smile and said "You can't buy time").

We met nice and open local people during all day, didn't meet a lot of tourists except for a good lunch, with an impressive elephant's-ear-fish served for lunch. Nevertheless, we would have preferred to eat on a stool some "street food" ( i should say "river food") among local people.

And next time we come, we'll ask for at least an hour of sampan in the small meanders, no motors, just sliding on the river peacefully. We spent ten minutes approximately on the sampan, but it's our favorite moment.

We recommend this agency. Moderate prices, open people, possibility to ask for specific voyage, apart from the main force of tourists.
