Excellent!!!
I am sorry this report is so long in the making. I actually forgot to write it. However I must say this tour was the best choice for us possible.
Li who was our guide was superb. We were picked up promptly in a very clean and new mini van and taken to this market en route (Apricot Tour) that was off the tourist radar.
AMAZING! We saw things we had never seen before and all the vendors were so friendly. One older lady just hugged me and was in tears as the Australian Soldiers saved her and her family in the war. We passed where the other tourists stop.
It did not look appealing. Our driver and guide did so much for us to make us comfortable. We went to the bee /honey place and the toffee place plus were in sampans down a canal after having some fruit and music.
There was this place we went to that had an elderly farmer, his wife and disabled son - they encouraged my husband to climb and get a coconut - then we enjoyed the sweet water from it. It then started to bucket down.
In our private little boat we got drenched but it was "warm rain" and I just wondered at the magical sight of all the raindrops falling onto the Mekong like diamonds.
I really didn't mind the rain at all (and the company didn't know it would rain!!). We had a delicious lunch in a lovely setting and then went back to our hotel. It was a really satisfying day.
To top it off the owner came and saw us later at our hotel to see how we enjoyed our trip. Amazing. Do it!!
