Fabulous Trip

When we arrived at Ho Chi Minh City, it was decided in advance, that we should experience the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong River. We found several places and ended up choosing Rodstour PRT Apricot - Cu Chi Tunnel - Mekong Delta Tour Full Day, even though they were not the cheapest. We are really glad that we did, because it ended up being a great and cool trip :-).

The day started very early in the morning, which of course was a bit hard for our 2 boys at 5 and 8 years. But fortunately for us it got better, because we were greeted by a great guide with a good mood. Soon after, the driver arrived, and then we came to the tunnels. We got a really good tour of the tunnels, and the children also came around the tunnels, some of which were unfortunately too small for the adults. But it was still a huge experience for all of us. You got a really good understanding of how it had been during the war.

Then we were driven to a very nice place where there was a lovely restaurant. Here was a lot of different and very special dishes served for us, unfortunately we did not dare to eat it all, but most of it was really good.

Once again we drove by car again and then we arrived at the Mekong River, where we were going out sailing a little. Here the boys were allowed to steer the boat, which they thought was really fun. When we had sailed a little, we arrived at a small island where we should see how to make candy. It was something the youngest one, thought was really exciting :-)

We were driven by carriage to a place where we had a little to eat. Here our boys were allowed to hold or have a pyton snake around the neck. We did not dare ourselves, but the oldest of the boys did :-)

Before we went home we sailed in a kayak or gondola through the river. We really felt like being in the middle of the jungle. It was the most beautiful and some of the wildest we had ever tried. Unfortunately the trip only took about 10-15 minutes, because it was really special

Eventually, the whole family rounded a palm tree trip to pick up coconut nuts. It was a little flat feeling unfortunately when a ladder was used, but again the kids thought it was a party.

Throughout this trip we were guided through the day, by the most amazing girl Truong Meo also called Ashley. She spoke fluent English and really understood the boys and gave us all an excellent trip, with a lot of lessons that we enjoy. Without her, the trip had never been the same.
